Love is a big and grand expression. It's always a challenge and a joy, to attempt to make Love, what I call, 'people friendly.' So that we can understand that Love is our energy; it's our organic and preferred reality. It floats our human boats, so to speak. But, because we have lived in a reality of Fear for so long, we don't know that.
We look at Love and say, "Uh, huh, yeah, I get it." We're starting to be aware that Love is more than an emotion that we share with each other, about each other. That Love is what we get from someone that says we are special, or we are protected, or we are safe, or we are thought well of. That Love is more than that. It's an energy for greater use, and it expresses all of who we are.
And the biggest news—which is not really new news—but it's still big, and it will continue to be big, because it's that awesome, is that we have to learn how to love ourselves. That is the real truth about what it means to love; it starts with the self. When you open that door to loving yourself, you open the door to a completely new world. A world that you have not been to before. A world that holds all the secrets to everything you ever wanted to know about what it means to be a human being. Everything about how to walk life as a human being. All of the questions: why are we here? What is our purpose? Where do we go from here? What is our story? All of those answers are behind that door, called self-love.
Not only do we discover who we are, but we also get to discover who everyone else is. That makes life far more interesting than you can ever imagine. Just you alone, learning about who you are, learning to love you. You are going to discover that you are the most exciting, interesting, and fascinating person that you've ever met. When I say that to people that I work with, they say, "Really?" And, I say, "Really! "You just wait. You're going to realize that you are that amazing.
You'll say, "Oh, my God, I could spend a lifetime, just learning about me. Just basking in the truth of who I am. What an amazing experience! And, to add to that, you realize, "My gosh, if I'm this interesting, how interesting is everyone else?" Then your whole perspective about being in a relationship with other human beings changes. It heightens. It uplifts. It's like, "Wow, this is life!" Seeing, feeling, experiencing myself and others this way, this is what makes life—come to life.
So, please take this bit of truth with you today. Contemplate what it would mean to love yourself, and to know yourself, and others, in that way. And, the truth of it all, and at the end of the day, everything is about Love.
